The Yangtze River has over 700 tributaries. The major tributaries (listed from upstream to downstream) with the locations of where they join the Yangtze are:
- Yalong River (Yunnan Province)
- Min River (Yibin, Sichuan Province)
- Jialing River (Chongqing)
- Wu Jiang
- Qing Jiang (Yidu, Hubei Province)
- Yuan River
- Zi Shui
- Xiang River(Yueyang, Hunan)
- Han River (Wuhan, Hubei)
- Gan River (near Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province.)
