Joining Liangshan
Yang Lin becomes a wandering outlaw and befriends Gongsun Sheng. Dai Zong goes to find Gongsun Sheng. Dai Zong meets Yang Lin by coincidence and they travel together. They pass by Yinma River and meet the bandits there led by Pei Xuan, Deng Fei and Meng Kang. Dai Zong invites them to join Liangshan and they agree. Yang Lin follows Dai Zong back to Liangshan later after they got acquainted with Shi Xiu at Jizhou (present-day Ji County, Tianjin).
When the Liangshan outlaws attack the Zhu Family Village, Yang Lin volunteers to work as a spy for Liangshan. He disguises himself as a priest and starts marking the roads in the village. He is discovered by an enemy patrol and captured. He is only released after the village falls to the outlaws.

“Behold the walls of Jericho. Maybe not as thick as the ones that Joshua blew down with his trumpet, but a lot safer. See, I have no trumpet. Now just to show you my hearts in the right place, Ill give you my best pair of pajamas. Do you mind joining the Israelites?”
