Hirotaka Yamazaki
Hirotaka was born (September 5, 1920-October 16, 2008) in the Gunma prefecture along with his friend Kiyoshi Ogawa. Hirotaka married Ito Mizuki and had 2 children who were killed in the Tokyo bombing raid. Hirotaka enlisted in the Imperial Japanese army in 1938 and participated in the invasion of Hong Kong and the Philippines and was promoted to lieutenant. Hirotaka was captured on Iwo Jima on top of Mt.suribachi 2 hours after the flag raising.
