Yahoo! Voice

Yahoo! Voice is a Voice over IP PC-PC, PC-Phone and Phone-to-PC service, provided by Yahoo! via its Yahoo! Messenger instant messaging application. Yahoo! Voice uses the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), GIPS codec and the Dialpad engine for voice transport. Since 2008 the service has been provided by JAJAH, an outsourced VoIP provider.During July 2012, Yahoo voice has been compromised and 4,53,491 email address and their passwords were hacked. This major devastation was achieved via SQL injection. A 17 MB text file containing the stolen passwords was released by a group of hackers called D33DS company. In relation with this issue, Yahoo advised users to change their passwords as soon as possible. In Yahoo! Messenger Blog, they anounced the end of Yahoo! Voice on January 30th 2013. Current users were sent an email on the documentation necessary to email Yahoo! in order to get a refund. However, even when this information was submitted, refunds were not forthcoming and Yahoo! (JaJah) wouldn't provide information on which of the questions were incorrect and so denied the refund. Here are the questions.

Famous quotes containing the word voice:

Insurrection:... insurrection as soon as circumstances allow: insurrection, strenuous, ubiquitous: the insurrection of the masses: the holy war of the oppressed: the republic to make republicans: the people in action to initiate progress. Let the insurrection announce with its awful voice the decrees of God: let it clear and level the ground on which its own immortal structure shall be raised. Let it, like the Nile, flood all the country that it is destined to make fertile.
    Giuseppe Mazzini (1805–1872)
