XHLAR usually broadcasts programming Monday through Friday a day after it has been aired on the Canal de las Estrellas, Canal 5, and Galavisión| networks. Programming in the morning is composed of local news, Televisa Tamaulipas, news and local talk shows. In the afternoon through 5:00 PM CST XHLAR airs yesterdays primetime telenovelas from Canal de las Estrellas followed by local news. Then XHLAR switches to Canal 5 and airs yesterdays series shows. On the weekends the channel broadcasts movies all day from Canal 5. The only programming this station broadcasts from Galavisión is live sports.
