Xavier married his childhood sweetheart, Sarah (b. 1989), aged just 20. They have one child together, Tobias Matias (b. 2009).
Xavier's father Daniel Zaza (b. 1958) is of part Sami descent. Xavier also has an older brother, Steve (b. 1986), who plays for AC Ajaccio's reserve team in Corsica, France.
