Wright Laboratory

Wright Laboratory was a research and development organization operated by the United States Air Force Materiel Command. In 1997, the Laboratory was merged into the Air Force Research Laboratory.

The Laboratory was named after the Wright brothers, American pioneers of aviation and the namesake of Wright-Patterson AFB where Wright Laboratory was based.

Famous quotes containing the words wright and/or laboratory:

... though it is by no means requisite that the American women should emulate the men in the pursuit of the whale, the felling of the forest, or the shooting of wild turkeys, they might, with advantage, be taught in early youth to excel in the race, to hit a mark, to swim, and in short to use every exercise which could impart vigor to their frames and independence to their minds.
    —Frances Wright (1795–1852)

With all of its bad influences, T.V. is not to be feared.... It can be a fairly safe laboratory for confronting, seeing through, and thus being immunized against unhealthy values so as to be “in the world but not of it.”
    Polly Berrien Berends (20th century)
