Famous quotes containing the words world, trade, center and/or cross:

All still lifes are actually paintings of the world on the sixth day of creation, when God and the world were alone together, without man!
    Robert Musil (1880–1942)

    Every trade has its master.
    Chinese proverb.

I think that New York is not the cultural center of America, but the business and administrative center of American culture.
    Saul Bellow (b. 1915)

How have I been able to live so long outside Nature without identifying myself with it? Captive now upon earth, I commune with the chorus of the stars who share in my joys and sorrows.
    Gérard De Nerval (1808–1855)
