After that, Sega contracted with 2K Games to take over their sports game contracts and the series has continued as the Major League Baseball 2K franchise, which thanks to 2K's contract with Major League Baseball is one of only two MLB video game series currently on the market (the other is Sony Computer Entertainment's MLB: The Show series that only appears on the PlayStation systems).
