Program
WJI holds courses, conferences, workshops and seminars in the nation's media centers. Programs are offered around the country during the year. Multi-week, college-level courses are held in New York City. Week-end conferences are held in major American cities in conjunction with national journalism conventions (i.e., Associated Collegiate Press, etc.). Week-long workshops, such as the Urbana 06 convention daily newspaper, Urbana Today, are held in various major American cities. The institute occasionally offers seminars of particular interest, such as Amity Shlaes (Bloomberg News) and Alvin H. Rosenfeld (Indiana University).

Famous quotes containing the word program:
“The present century has not dealt kindly with the farmer. His legends are all but obsolete, and his beliefs have been pared away by the professors at colleges of agriculture. Even the farm- bred bards who twang guitars before radio microphones prefer Im Headin for the Last Roundup to Turkey in the Straw or Father Put the Cows Away.”
—For the State of Kansas, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
“The actions of each dancer were scrutinized with great care and any little mistake noted and remembered. The strain upon a dancer was consequently so great that when a fine dancer died soon after a feast it was said, The peoples looks have killed him.”
—Merle Colby, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
“The cowboy ... is well on his way to becoming a figure of magnificent proportions. Bowlegged and gaunt, he stands as the apotheosis of manly perfection. Songs, novels, movies, magazines, and operettas have made the least inquiring of us well acquainted with his extraordinary courage, unfailing gallantry, and uncanny skill with gun or lariat. The farmer, meanwhile, sits stolidly on his tractor, bereft of romance and adventure.”
—For the State of Kansas, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
