Wonderful (The Beach Boys Song) - Solo Brian Wilson Re-recordings

Solo Brian Wilson Re-recordings

Brian Wilson revisited the song in 1995 for his I Just Wasn't Made For These Times album, and then again for his 2004 interpretation of the Smile material.

The 2004 version was completed and performed with the rest of the finally completed Smile songs, live in February 2004 by Brian Wilson and his band, including members of the Wondermints with prior Beach Boys guitarist/vocalist Jeff Foskett. A studio version of the Smile arrangement was subsequently recorded and included on the Smile studio album when it was released later in 2004. The song was released as a limited 7" single backed with "Wind Chimes" totaling 5,000 copies on blue, green, and yellow vinyl. In the 2004 version, "Wonderful" is linked thematically with the second suite which also included "Child is Father of the Man" and "Surf's Up".

Famous quotes containing the words solo, brian and/or wilson:

All mothers need instruction, nurturing, and an understanding mentor after the birth of a baby, but in this age of fast foods, fast tracks, and fast lanes, it doesn’t always happen. While we live in a society that provides recognition for just about every life event—from baptisms to bar mitzvahs, from wedding vows to funeral rites—the entry into parenting seems to be a solo flight, with nothing and no one to mark formally the new mom’s entry into motherhood.
    Sally Placksin (20th century)

... cooking is just like religion. Rules don’t no more make a cook than sermons make a saint.
Anonymous, U.S. cook. As quoted in I Dream a World, by Leah Chase, who was quoted in turn by Brian Lanker (1989)

My own ideals for the university are those of a genuine democracy and serious scholarship. These two, indeed, seem to go together.
    —Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924)
