Wolverhampton St George's Tram Stop

Wolverhampton St George's tram stop is a tram stop in Wolverhampton, England. It was opened on 31 May 1999 and is the current terminus of the Midland Metro Line 1. The stop is located in Bilston Street opposite Wolverhampton Police Station and Oceana Night Club. It is one of only two stops on the Metro that class it as a tramway, as most of the line is on former railway track bed. The tram has priority over other road traffic and the traffic lights can be over ridden by the Metro control room at any time.

Famous quotes containing the word stop:

When a man of sense happens to be in that disagreeable situation in which he is obliged to ask himself more than once, What shall I do? he will answer himself, Nothing. When his reason points out to him no good way, he will stop short, and wait for light. A little busy mind runs on at all events, must be doing; and, like a blind horse, fears no dangers, because he sees none. Il faut scavoir s’ennuïer.*
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)
