WNIR (100.1 FM) — branded "WNIR 100 FM" — is a talk radio station licensed to Kent, Ohio in the Akron, Ohio radio market. The station, along with sister station WJMP, and low power television station "The CAT" (WAOH-LP channel 29 Akron and W35AX channel 35 Cleveland), is locally owned by Media-Com, Inc. Its facilities, as well as those of its sister radio and television stations, are located along State Route 59 in Franklin Township east of Kent and adjacent to the village of Brady Lake.

WNIR has been acknowledged as the #1 rated FM talk radio station in America in the categories of "FM Market Rank" as well as "FM Talk Share" (among listeners age 12+) according to the article titled "The Inside Story with Mike Kinosian: FM Talk" published in INSIDE RADIO magazine.

WNIR is owned by Media-Com, one of the last family-owned media outlets in northeast Ohio. MediaCom was founded by Richard "Dick" Klaus, who died on January 28, 2006 at the age of 86. Sons Robert and William continue today with the family ownership and management of the station.
