History
Winslow United Football Club was formed in 1891. They joined the South Midlands League in 1968. In the 1983–84 season, they reached the second round of the FA Vase. For the 2008–09 season, they were members of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One. However, they withdrew the senior teams from the league prior to the 2009–10 season and continued with a strong youth policy running an U18, U17 and two U16 teams. After one year out the two senior teams under new management re-started the following season (2010–11). The club's youth academy now stretches from under 7s upwards.
The club won the Division Two Cup after beating The 61 F.C. 2–0 in the final, the goals coming from Simon King and Ryan Wiffin. In their first year back they finished fourth in Division Two.

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“The custard is setting; meanwhile
I not only have my own history to worry about
But am forced to fret over insufficient details related to large
Unfinished concepts that can never bring themselves to the point
Of being, with or without my help, if any were forthcoming.”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
“It may be well to remember that the highest level of moral aspiration recorded in history was reached by a few ancient JewsMicah, Isaiah, and the restwho took no count whatever of what might not happen to them after death. It is not obvious to me why the same point should not by and by be reached by the Gentiles.”
—Thomas Henry Huxley (182595)
