Winifred Brunton

Winifred Mabel Brunton née Newberry (6 May 1880 - 29 January 1959) was an English-born painter and illustrator.

Brunton was born in London. Her father Charles was the builder of Prynnsberg Estate. She became best known for her portraits of Egyptian pharaohs, published as Kings and Queens of Ancient Egypt (1926) and Great Ones of Ancient Egypt (1929). She married Egyptologist Guy Brunton on 28 April 1906. One of her most acclaimed works was her "unrealistic" interpretation of Tutankhamen.

Brunton died, aged 78, in Clocolan, Free State, South Africa.
