Windward Community College is a public, co-educational college in Kāneʻohe CDP, City and County of Honolulu, in the U.S. state of Hawaiʻi on the island of Oʻahu. It is one of ten campuses of the University of Hawaiʻi system and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Created in 1972, Windward Community College primarily serves the windward Oahu region, offering college courses, non-credit classes, and community activities including an annual Hoʻolauleʻa, typically held in September or October.
Windward CC's strengths are in Hawaiian studies, natural sciences, fine arts, veterinary technology, and vocational training. Most of the college's students are from the windward side of Oʻahu and transfer to 4-year colleges, including the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and Hawaii Pacific University. Key facilities include Pāliku Theatre, the Imaginarium (a planetarium), and Gallery ʻIolani (an art gallery) and a new Library Learning Commons, which opened in 2012.

Famous quotes containing the words community and/or college:
“The most perfect political community must be amongst those who are in the middle rank, and those states are best instituted wherein these are a larger and more respectable part, if possible, than both the other; or, if that cannot be, at least than either of them separate, so that being thrown into the balance it may prevent either scale from preponderating.”
—Aristotle (384322 B.C.)
“If any proof were needed of the progress of the cause for which I have worked, it is here tonight. The presence on the stage of these college women, and in the audience of all those college girls who will some day be the nations greatest strength, will tell their own story to the world.”
—Susan B. Anthony (18201906)
