William Simon U'Ren (1859-1949) was an American attorney, politician, and political activist. A progressive at the turn of the 20th century, U'Ren was instrumental in making the use of the initiative and referendum part of the established governmental system in the state of Oregon, thereby serving as a model for the rest of the country.
