William Farr School - School Aims

School Aims

In its foundation document the school states its aims as:

"The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils."

The school motto, included on the badge on the uniform, reads "Striving for excellence". Former Head Teacher Paul Strong stated:

"William Farr (CE) Comprehensive School aims to provide the highest possible quality of education for its pupils so they achieve their maximum potential, and help to further the school, the wider community and themselves."

Famous quotes containing the words school and/or aims:

One non-revolutionary weekend is infinitely more bloody than a month of permanent revolution.
Graffiti, School of Oriental Languages, London (1968)

All who strive to live for something beyond mere selfish aims find their capacities for doing good very inadequate to their aspirations. They do so much less than they want to do, and so much less than they, at the outset, expected to do, that their lives, viewed retrospectively, inevitably look like failure.
    Lydia M. Child (1802–1880)
