Wichita Falls Wildcats - History

History

Originally known as the Wichita Falls Rustlers (and before this, the Butte Irish of Butte, Montana and the Vail Avalanche of Vail, Colorado), the franchise was a part of the America West Hockey League prior to 2003, and became an NAHL team after the two leagues merged for the 2003-04 season. The Irish, Rustlers, and Wildcats are technically three separate franchises, but with a major overlap of players and coaches between the organizations, they are often listed together as one.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

Postmodernism is, almost by definition, a transitional cusp of social, cultural, economic and ideological history when modernism’s high-minded principles and preoccupations have ceased to function, but before they have been replaced with a totally new system of values. It represents a moment of suspension before the batteries are recharged for the new millennium, an acknowledgment that preceding the future is a strange and hybrid interregnum that might be called the last gasp of the past.
Gilbert Adair, British author, critic. Sunday Times: Books (London, April 21, 1991)

The history of all countries shows that the working class exclusively by its own effort is able to develop only trade-union consciousness.
    Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870–1924)

    A people without history
Is not redeemed from time, for history is a pattern
    Of timeless moments.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
