Media Appearances
Strieber wrote an essay in Timothy Greenfield-Sanders nude portrait book, XXX: 30 Porn Star Photographs and appears in interviews in Thinking XXX, a 2004 HBO documentary about the making of that book.
Strieber and his wife Anne make a cameo appearance in the 2009 movie Race to Witch Mountain.
Television appearances during the publication of Communion were numerous and included The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Since 2002, Strieber has made a policy of declining all media invitations in relation to his alien encounters, but he has made appearances (including a 2006 interview on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson) in support of his newer novels.

Famous quotes containing the words media and/or appearances:
“Today the discredit of words is very great. Most of the time the media transmit lies. In the face of an intolerable world, words appear to change very little. State power has become congenitally deaf, which is why—but the editorialists forget it—terrorists are reduced to bombs and hijacking.”
—John Berger (b. 1926)
“The appearances of goodness and merit often meet with a greater reward from the world than goodness and merit themselves.”
—François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)
