White Kingdom

The White Kingdom is a layer of the Abyss in the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game ruled by Doresain, also known as the King of Ghouls. It is believed to lie on the 421st layer of the Abyss.

According to the Fiend Folio, the abyssal ghouls are servants of the King, so it is likely they can be found in the White Kingdom.

The White Kingdom is sacred to all ghouls, and in fact such creatures sometimes attempt to create lesser versions of it on the Prime Material Plane. In the World of Greyhawk campaign setting, one such version, populated by true ghouls is located beneath the Hellfurnaces, not far from the Vault of the Drow.

Famous quotes containing the words white and/or kingdom:

A village seems thus, where its able-bodied men are all plowing the ocean together, as a common field. In North Truro the women and girls may sit at their doors, and see where their husbands and brothers are harvesting their mackerel fifteen or twenty miles off, on the sea, with hundreds of white harvest wagons, just as in the country the farmers’ wives sometimes see their husbands working in a distant hillside field. But the sound of no dinner-horn can reach the fisher’s ear.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.
    Bible: New Testament, Mark 10:14.
