Overall design follows Chechulin's 1934 draft of the Aeroflot building.

Famous quotes containing the words white and/or house:

When the white man governs himself that is self-government; but when he governs himself, and also governs another man, that is more than self-government—that is despotism.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

    Babies and gin and church
    And women and Sunday
    All mixed with dimes and
    Dollars and clean spittoons
    And house rent to pay.
    Langston Hughes (1902–1967)
