Emigration, Marriage and Fortune

On the death of his father in 1870, the family emigrated to Toronto, Canada. Wright then travelled to Philadelphia, where he met and married Anna Edith Weightman in 1878. Wright returned to England, and promoted a multitude of Australian and Canadian mining companies on the London market.

Famous quotes containing the words marriage and/or fortune:

    Always the same old story—
    Father Time and Mother Earth,
    A marriage on the rocks.
    James Merrill (b. 1926)

All things have their ends and cycles. And when they have reached their highest point, they are in their lowest ruin, for they cannot last for long in such a state. Such is the end for those who cannot moderate their fortune and prosperity with reason and temperance.
    François Rabelais (1494–1553)
