Music Video
Lachey was documented on a MTV Special that was aired on April 22, 2006 called "What's Left of Me". Following the special, a Making The Video was aired, covering the production process. The clip itself was premiered to the world at the end of the show. The video features Vanessa Minnillo former Miss Teen USA, and former TRL VJ, who in the video clip assumingly plays Jessica Simpson.
As the video progresses, objects from the house begin to disappear, such as a laptop computer, a stereo, some pictures, furniture, and products inside the fridge. At the end of the video, the wedding ring that Minnillo is wearing on a necklace also disappears, and seconds later Minnillo disappears before Nick's eyes. A final shot of Lachey standing on an empty house projects the theme of the song, and shows that there's nothing 'left of him'.
Many references to Lachey's personal life with Simpson are made: most specifically the wedding ring on the necklace disappearing and the presence of a camera crew filming Lachey and Minnillo(a reference to Lachey's personal discomfort over the making of the show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica).

Famous quotes containing the words music and/or video:
“Truly fertile Music, the only kind that will move us, that we shall truly appreciate, will be a Music conducive to Dream, which banishes all reason and analysis. One must not wish first to understand and then to feel. Art does not tolerate Reason.”
—Albert Camus (19131960)
“It is among the ranks of school-age children, those six- to twelve-year-olds who once avidly filled their free moments with childhood play, that the greatest change is evident. In the place of traditional, sometimes ancient childhood games that were still popular a generation ago, in the place of fantasy and make- believe play . . . todays children have substituted television viewing and, most recently, video games.”
—Marie Winn (20th century)
