Speech Day
On the third Saturday in September each year, the school holds its Speech Day and prize-giving ceremony. Pupils who have achieved excellence in academic, sporting and other fields are rewarded for their efforts and for their contribution to the school's success. Successful former pupils are often invited to make speeches, alongside a customary speech by the serving headmaster of the school.

Famous quotes containing the words speech and/or day:
“I love eulogies. They are the most moving kind of speech because they attempt to pluck meaning from the fog, and on short order, when the emotions are still ragged and raw and susceptible to leaps.”
—Peggy Noonan (b. 1950)
“If the day comes when they know who
They are, they may know better where they are.
But who they are is too much to believe
Either for them or the onlooking world.
They are too sudden to be credible.”
—Robert Frost (18741963)
