Famous quotes containing the words weekly, young and/or jump:

The intent of matrimony, is not for man and wife to be always taken up with each other, but jointly to discharge the duties of civil society, to govern their family with prudence, and educate their children with discretion.
Anonymous, U.S. women’s magazine contributor. Weekly Visitor or Ladies Miscellany (June 1807)

It wasn’t idealism that made me, from the beginning, want a more secure and rational society. It was an intellectual judgement, to which I still hold. When I was young its name was socialism. We can be deflected by names. But the need was absolute, and is still absolute.
    Raymond Williams (1921–1988)

    Oh is that
all? I tho’t it was something else. Oh
they jump and run too. I wish you had been
there, I was so interested to hear about it.
    William Carlos Williams (1883–1963)
