Box Office
Although it was intended to be a Christmas season blockbuster, Wayne's World 2 was only moderately successful and did not receive the box office intake or positive fan reaction as the first film did. Its final domestic gross was $48 million, slightly more than its $40 million budget, but a far cry from the original film's gross of over $100 million. During its release, Wayne's World 2 also suffered severely due to competition from other holiday season blockbusters such as Mrs. Doubtfire, Schindler's List, and The Pelican Brief.

Famous quotes containing the words box and/or office:
“However low and poor the taking Snuff argues a Man to be in his own Stock of Thought, or Means to employ his Brains and his Fingers, yet there is a poorer Creature in the World than He, and this is a Borrower of Snuff; a Fellow that keeps no Box of his own, but is always asking others for a Pinch.”
—Richard Steele (16721729)
“... Washington was not only an important capital. It was a city of fear. Below that glittering and delightful surface there is another story, that of underpaid Government clerks, men and women holding desperately to work that some political pull may at any moment take from them. A city of men in office and clutching that office, and a city of struggle which the country never suspects.”
—Mary Roberts Rinehart (18761958)
