Watford Tube Station - Location and Description

Location and Description

The station is on Cassiobury Park Avenue, at the junction with Metropolitan Station Approach, in the Cassiobury area of Watford. It is close to two of the entrances to Cassiobury Park. Despite the name suggesting a central location, it is some distance from Watford town centre compared with the town's other stations, Watford High Street and Watford Junction. It is known locally as "Watford Met" to distinguish it from these and the other Watford stations, which are operated by National Rail. The red-brick station building was designed by C. W. Clark.

Famous quotes containing the word description:

Everything to which we concede existence is a posit from the standpoint of a description of the theory-building process, and simultaneously real from the standpoint of the theory that is being built. Nor let us look down on the standpoint of the theory as make-believe; for we can never do better than occupy the standpoint of some theory or other, the best we can muster at the time.
Willard Van Orman Quine (b. 1908)
