The film had a significant influence on the early Taiwanese film industry: for example, at the 1965 Taiwanese Film Festival, the film Since Your Departure (自君別後), a version of Waterloo Bridge adapted to Taiwan of the 1950s, received Best Actress and Best Song Awards.
