Watchdog (TV Series) - Dan Penteado

Dan Penteado

In what turned out to be ironic turn of events for the programme, Dan Penteado, the co-host of Matt Allwright in the "Rogue Traders" section on Watchdog was, on 17 July 2012 jailed for 12 weeks for benefit fraud. Magistrates at Bournemouth heard how Penteado, the leather clad biker who accompanied Matt Allwright in the ambushing of Rogue Traders was himself a rogue as he had claimed £25,000 in benefits whilst appearing in the show that paid him £56,000 over the four-year period from 2008 to 2011 that the benefits were claimed for. It was announced after the case that Penteado had been sacked from the show. In a subsequent programme broadcast on 26 September 2012, the "Rogue" that was under investigation turned the tables on the show after Allwright, who had accosted him after he came out of a county court tried to deflect attention and only wanted to talk about Penteado's antics rather than his own alleged mis-demeanors.

Famous quotes containing the word dan:

Narcotics have been systematically scapegoated and demonized. The idea that anyone can use drugs and escape a horrible fate is an anathema to these idiots. I predict that in the near future, right wingers will use drug hysteria as a pretext to set up an international police apparatus.
