Watch Your Head

Watch Your Head is a daily comic strip written and illustrated by Cory Thomas, focusing on the lives of six students at Oliver Otis University, a fictional Historically Black university. Based upon Thomas' experiences as a student at Howard University, Watch Your Head was first published in Howard's newspaper, The Hilltop.

The strip was picked up for national distribution by the Washington Post Writers Group (WPWG) in 2006, and was launched on March 19. WPWG moved up the launch date of the strip from the date originally planned so as to make it available as a potential replacement for The Boondocks, which went on permanent hiatus in March 2006.

Famous quotes containing the words watch your, watch and/or head:

Since you saw no form when the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire, take care and watch yourselves closely, so that you do not act corruptly by making an idol for yourselves, in the form of any figure -the likeness of male or female...
    Bible: Hebrew, Deuteronomy 4:15,16.

But no matter how they make you feel, you should always watch elders carefully. They were you and you will be them. You carry the seeds of your old age in you at this very moment, and they hear the echoes of their childhood each time they see you.
    Kent Nerburn (20th century)

No sociologist ... should think himself too good, even in his old age, to make tens of thousands of quite trivial computations in his head and perhaps for months at a time. One cannot with impunity try to transfer this task entirely to mechanical assistants if one wishes to figure something, even though the final result is often small indeed.
    Max Weber (1864–1920)
