The Warriors have won a state record four consecutive IHSAA (Indiana High School Athletic Association) class 5-A football championships (1984,1985, 2003,2004,2005,2006,2009), attaining a ranking as high as #2 in the USA Today Prep Top 25 poll. They also recently won the 5A state championship in the 2009-10 season. The football team also won the inaugural 5A state football title in 1985 after winning the 4A title the previous season in 1984. Future NFL quarterback and #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, Jeff George, was the starting quarterback for those teams. Record setting Running Back Darren Evans was signed by the Indianapolis Colts after the lockout ended in 2011. The Warriors won State Championships in Wrestling and Men's Gymnastics in 1980. The cross country team won its first-ever state championship in 2005 and placed 15th in the Nike invitational tournament held in Oregon on December 3, 2005. The cross country team repeated as state champions in 2006. The Warriors also boast state championships in other athletics as well. Warren also was ranked the 3rd-best athletic program in the nation and 1st among public schools by Sports Illustrated in 2007.
