Causes
AIHA may be:
- Idiopathic, that is, without any known cause
- Secondary to another disease, such as an antecedent upper respiratory tract infection, systemic lupus erythematosus or rheumatoid arthritis or a malignancy, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
- Associated with receiving a drug
