Walter P. Brownlow - Biography

Biography

Brownlow was born in Abingdon, Virginia, March 27, 1851 son of Bluford Morgan and Smyra Annie Musick Brownlow, and attended the common schools until his father's death about 1861. Needing to earn a living, he was employed as a telegraph messenger boy when only ten years of age and became an apprentice in the tinning business at the age of fourteen.
