The Waldorf School of Baltimore is a Waldorf school located in Coldspring, Baltimore, Maryland. It is a co-educational school that was established in 1971 under the name New Morning School. The school offers Parent/Child classes for infants and toddlers, a Nursery and Kindergarten program and Grades 1-8. The school began its High School program in September 2007, and ended it in June of 2012.
The school is one of over 950 Waldorf schools worldwide based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner. The Waldorf School of Baltimore is licensed by the State of Maryland Board of Education, is a fully accredited member of the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS), and is a full member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA).
The Upper School, or high school level of the Waldorf School of Baltimore closed on Friday June 8, 2012. A assembly was held on Wednesday June 6, 2012 to formally close the Upper School. The final graduating class (class of 2012) graduated on Saturday June 2, 2012 at 6:00 PM.
