"Waiting for Tonight" is a song originally recorded by American female pop trio 3rd Party for their album Alive (1997). American entertainer Jennifer Lopez recorded a version for her debut album, On the 6 (1999). Lopez's version was released as the second single from her album, and also the most famous version of the song so far, being considered one of her signature songs.
The single peaked at number eight in the U.S., becoming Lopez's second top ten single; it also peaked at number five in the United Kingdom. Moreover, the track earned Lopez a nomination for Best Dance Recording at the 2000 Grammy Awards. A Spanish version of the song, entitled "Una Noche Más" ("One More Night"), is also included on the album On the 6.
