Voltaic Communist Organization

Voltaic Communist Organization (French: Organisation communiste voltaïque, OCV) was a communist party in the country now known as Burkina Faso. It was founded in 1971 out of the student milieu. In 1978 OCV split in two, the pro-China Communist Struggle Union (ULC) and the pro-Albanian Voltaic Revolutionary Communist Party (PCRV).

Famous quotes containing the words communist and/or organization:

In communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticize after dinner, just as I have a mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, shepherd or critic.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)

Science, unguided by a higher abstract principle, freely hands over its secrets to a vastly developed and commercially inspired technology, and the latter, even less restrained by a supreme culture saving principle, with the means of science creates all the instruments of power demanded from it by the organization of Might.
    Johan Huizinga (1872–1945)
