Viva Forever - Live Performances

Live Performances

The song was included on the set list of the Spiceworld Tour. After Geri left during the North American leg, on the Back to Britain portion of the tour, Melanie C sang "... Spice Girls forever" rather than the original lyrics "... viva forever" near the end of the song. The song was also performed on the Christmas in Spiceworld tour. "Viva Forever" was the group last performance on television as a quintet, on Top of the Pops. It was also the first song they performed on television without Geri, on 27 May 1998 at the National Lottery. The Spice Girls (4 girl line-up) performed this song in 1998 with Pavarotti on the annually hosted Pavarotti and Friends (friends for the children of Liberia) charity concerts. The Pavarotti version is featured on Pavarotti's album entitled Pavarotti and Friends. The song was re-imagined on the Return of the Spice Girls world tour in 2007 with Spanish themed costumes and backing music. At the end of the song, Geri makes a platform exit off the stage, symbolizing her leaving the group. It is easily noticed because all spotlights go on her.

Famous quotes containing the words live and/or performances:

... we engage in politics because we don’t know anything. This is clearly revealed in the way we go about it. Our parties exist from a fear of theory. The voter fears that one idea can always be contradicted by another. Therefore the parties reciprocally defend themselves against the few old ideas they have inherited. They don’t live from what they promise, but from frustrating the promises of others. This is their silent community of interests.
    Robert Musil (1880–1942)

This play holds the season’s record [for early closing], thus far, with a run of four evening performances and one matinee. By an odd coincidence it ran just five performances too many.
    Dorothy Parker (1893–1967)
