The station is near some major landmarks, such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas complex, Department of Finance building, Metropolitan Museum of Manila, and the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, home of the Philippine National Football Team and where some of the sports in previous Southeast Asian Games and AFC Challenge Cup were played. The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) complex is near this station as well. Located in this complex are the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater), the Philippine International Convention Center, Folks Arts Theater, Manila Film Center, Coconut Palace, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel, the Philippine Navy headquarters and Harbour Square.
The station is also close to some prominent educational institutions, such as the main campus of De La Salle University, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Arellano University and St. Scholastica's College.The station is also near Manila's main pelota court, where all of the city's jai-alai games were played. Harrison Plaza and University Mall are the main shopping centers in the area.
