Sydney Family
The first creation was for Henry Sydney, who was created Viscount Sydney of Sheppey and Baron Milton (i.e. Milton in Kent) in the Peerage of England on 9 September 1689. He was later further created Earl of Romney. He had no children so the titles became extinct on his death on 8 April 1704.

Famous quotes containing the words sydney and/or family:
“What is more hopelessly uninteresting than accomplished liberty? Great swarming, teeming Sydney flowing out into these myriads of bungalows, like shallow waters spreading, undyked. And what then? Nothing. No inner life, no high command, no interest in anything finally.”
—D.H. (David Herbert)
“Anytime we react to behavior in our children that we dislike in ourselves, we need to proceed with extreme caution. The dynamics of everyday family life also have a way of repeating themselves.”
—Cathy Rindner Tempelsman (20th century)
