Virtual Places Chat is software that uses the paradigm that any web page on the Internet is a chat room – a Virtual Place – if one or more people are viewing the page with the VPchat program. A web browser is an integral part of VPchat. Below the browser window there is a chat pane in which the conversation text is displayed. Below the chat pane is a box for entering text for the conversation. To the right of the browser window is a list of people in the room. In their haste to make money, they separated hundreds of friends who would not pay for chat.

Famous quotes containing the words virtual, places and/or chat:
“Tragedy dramatizes human life as potentiality and fulfillment. Its virtual future, or Destiny, is therefore quite different from that created in comedy. Comic Destiny is Fortune—what the world will bring, and the man will take or miss, encounter or escape; tragic Destiny is what the man brings, and the world will demand of him. That is his Fate.”
—Susanne K. Langer (1895–1985)
“Words whispered on Earth are heard in Heaven like thunder; evil done in dark places the gods see like lightning.”
—Chinese proverb.
“How it is I know not; but there is no place like a bed for confidential disclosures between friends. Man and wife, they say, there open the very bottom of their souls to each other; and some old couples often lie and chat over old times till nearly morning. Thus, then, in our hearts’ honeymoon, lay I and Queequeg—a cosy, loving pair.”
—Herman Melville (1819–1891)
