Synopsis
Robert (Joel Torre) is the one and only son and heir of Don Manolo Quintana (Tony Mabesa) -- the most powerful man in Sitio Mabilog. He falls in love with the family's lowly helper, Lumen (Chanda Romero). Despite the difference of their social status, they manage to keep their love affair strong but hidden from anyone.
But the lover's fairy tale romance is suddenly jeopardized when Don Manolo discovers their secret relationship. The old Quintana strongly opposes and forces his son to marry Stella (Isabel Rivas), a daughter of another wealthy businessman and Robert's ex-girlfriend who is still head-over-heels in love with him. Weak-willed and no choice, Robert complies to what his father's wishes. With a heavy heart, he abandons Lumen and marries Stella.
Wallowing in grief and devastation, Lumen woes are aggravated further when she finds out that she's pregnant with Robert's child. Felix (Pen Medina), Lumen's friend and confidante who is also secretly in love with her, voluntarily marries Lumen to save her reputation and promises to keep the baby's real identity a secret.
Many years later...
Fate seems playing a game into Robert, Stella, Lumen and Felix as the history repeats itself -- this time, with their children, when Isagani (Keempee de Leon) and Lynette (Donna Cruz) fall in love with each other. But unlike their parents, the two are determined to fight for their love despite all odds. A love that heaven forbids and a tragic love story that starts to unfold from here.
