Athletic Background
Villa Madonna Academy has an excellent athletic program. The high school offers 12 varsity sports, and the teams are very successful, consistently earning conference championships. Student atheltes have won the Kentucky Heisman Award and the KHSAA State Sportsmanship Award, to name just two. Villa athletes are "student athletes," bringing to the field or the court the same commitment to excellence that they bring to the classroom. In 2000, a state-of-the art athletic facility opened, providing even more opportunities for athletes to excel. Villa is home of the Blue Lightning, a mascot that reflects the intensity of the teams.
