Vietnamese people in Korea have a history going back to the latter days of Vietnam's Lý Dynasty; several princes of Ly sought refuge with the kingdom of Goryeo. After the division of Korea and the Korean War, Vietnamese people had various contacts with both North and South Korea. In the latter, Vietnamese are the second-largest group of foreigners, after Chinese migrants.
