Vietnam At The Olympics

Vietnam first competed in the Olympic Games in 1952 as State of Vietnam, after the Partition of Vietnam only the Republic of Vietnam competed from 1956 to 1972. Then after the reunification of Vietnam, they have competed under the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from 1980 onwards. Since their first Olympic Games in 1952, they have competed in every games apart from 1976 and 1984. They have never competed in the Winter Olympics however they are going to start in 2014.

The Vietnam Olympic Committee was formed in 1976 and recognized by the IOC in 1979.
