Early Years
Victory Tilly was born on May 3, 1995, in Almunge, Uppsala municipality, Sweden. He spent his years as a colt at his breeder's, Stall Tilly. Glen Norman was in charge of the training of the stable's race horses, and, thus, was Victory Tilly's trainer in the horse's early years. During this period, as a two-year-old, Victory Tilly was castrated because of testicle problems. Being gelded, Victory Tilly would in his career be ineligible to enter major French events like Prix d'Amérique, that are open only for stallions and mares.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or years:
“Long before I wrote stories, I listened for stories. Listening for them is something more acute than listening to them. I suppose its an early form of participation in what goes on. Listening children know stories are there. When their elders sit and begin, children are just waiting and hoping for one to come out, like a mouse from its hole.”
—Eudora Welty (b. 1909)
“Come Vitus, are we men, or are we children? Of what use are all these melodramatic gestures? You say your soul was killed, and that you have been dead all these years. And what of me? Did we not both die here in Marmaros fifteen years ago? Are we any the less victims of the war than those whose bodies were torn asunder? Are we not both the living dead?”
—Peter Ruric, and Edgar G. Ulmer. Hjalmar Poelzig (Boris Karloff)
