Competitions With Other Schools
Vernon Barford competes with other Junior Highs in the Area. It has a longstanding sports rivalry with Avalon, particularly in Cross Country Running, as well as in soccer and various other sports. Other sport rivalries include Riverbend Junior High, DS Mackenzie Junior High, and TD Baker Junior High. As for academics, its main competition is Grandview Junior High and Crestwood Junior High. Both Schools are listed as one of the best academic Junior High schools in Alberta.
