Famous quotes containing the words vermont, marble and/or museum:

    Anything I can say about New Hampshire
    Will serve almost as well about Vermont,
    Excepting that they differ in their mountains.
    The Vermont mountains stretch extended straight;
    New Hampshire mountains curl up in a coil.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

    Let him have the marble monument, along with the well-assured and more enduring one in the hearts of those who love liberty, unselfishly, for all men.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

    I have no connections here; only gusty collisions,
    rootless seedlings forced into bloom, that collapse.
    ...
    I am the Visiting Poet: a real unicorn,
    a wind-up plush dodo, a wax museum of the Movement.
    People want to push the buttons and see me glow.
    Marge Piercy (b. 1936)
