Veritas Academy - Philosophy

Philosophy

Veritas is run on the philosophy of the National Association of University-Model Schools (NAUMS), and focuses on parents being involved in their child's education. It accomplishes this objective by having students K-6th grade receive classroom instruction at a central location two days a week and completing assignments directed by the teacher at home on the other days. Middle school students attend classes three days a week and complete assignments on the off days. High school students follow a collegiate schedule of classes, two, three or five days a week.

Famous quotes containing the word philosophy:

The real discovery is the one which enables me to stop doing philosophy when I want to.—The one that gives philosophy peace, so that it is no longer tormented by questions which bring itself into question.
    Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889–1951)

A philosophy can and must be worked out with the greatest rigour and discipline in the details, but can ultimately be founded on nothing but faith: and this is the reason, I suspect, why the novelties in philosophy are only in elaboration, and never in fundamentals.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

All roads are blocked to a philosophy which reduces everything to the word “no.” To “no” there is only one answer and that is “yes.” Nihilism has no substance. There is no such thing as nothingness, and zero does not exist. Everything is something. Nothing is nothing. Man lives more by affirmation than by bread.
    Victor Hugo (1802–1885)
