Recent Years
The League of Venturers have evolved in recent years thanks largely to a substantial legacy and ongoing support from the public and private persons.
The purchase of two Ocean Dynamics wateret RIBs played a big part in this, however the larger 40 foot cabin RIB had to be sold in late 2005, it was replaced with a Humber Ocean Pro 6.3 that provided a training platform for the Venturers in the waters of the Solent.

Famous quotes containing the word years:
“In time, after a dozen years of centering their lives around the games boys play with one another, the boys’ bodies change and that changes everything else. But the memories are not erased of that safest time in the lives of men, when their prime concern was playing games with guys who just wanted to be their friendly competitors. Life never again gets so simple.”
—Frank Pittman (20th century)
“Women are told from their infancy, and taught by the example of their mothers, that a little knowledge of human weakness, justly termed cunning, softness of temper, outward obedience, and a scrupulous attention to a puerile kind of propriety, will obtain for them the protection of man; and should they be beautiful, every thing else is needless, for, at least, twenty years of their lives.”
—Mary Wollstonecraft (1759–1797)
